Sensity was founded 2010 and is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. On September 12, 2016 it was announced that Sensity was to be acquired by Verizon Wireless.

Sensity provides a solution to create a high-speed, sensor-based, multi-service, open networking platform known as a Light Sensory Network (LSN). LSNs help lighting owners improve lighting control and energy efficiency and offer the additional benefits of parking management, local analytics, and video security.

Sensity's network connected energy-efficient LED lighting serves as the base for their NetSense platform. By integrating software applications and services that run on the NetSense platform, Sensity enables commercial and municipal lighting owners to link energy efficiency and cost savings to the improvement of business goals as diverse as safety, parking management, asset management, and retail analytics.
